Hello Family,
This post is a little long, but there is so much happening in the sky and I have a feeling that understanding the energies that are at play right now might benefit a lot those who are feeling this connection.
Thank you so much for all the feedback and support! And enjoy.
Eclipse season continues. 2 weeks ago we had a total solar eclipse with New Moon in Cancer. Now we are approaching the lunar eclipse with the Full Moon in Capricorn- that will happen on July 16th, 5:30 pm NY time.
5 out of 10 planets/stars that we have in our solar system will be in Capricorn or Cancer opposing each other (Mercury will reenter Cancer very soon and then it will be 6 planets).
The main aspect of this eclipse will be an opposition. The planets in Capricorn will oppose the one in Cancer. The opposition is dividing the circle by 2. Number 2 is telling us that we are dealing with some kind of polarity. Full Moon (Moon in its full potential) will be facing Sun (which, from the default, represents fullness and wholeness). The opposition also brings the quality of the mirror. One of my favorite authors of astrological books – Sue Tompkins – wrote that energies opposing each other are alike, just different in degrees. That reminds us of the oneness of polarity, pictured so beautiful by the Yin and Yang symbol.
We (Earth) are gonna be exactly in between those two powerful energies (Sun and Moon) and Earth will cast its shadow on the Moon, so we can see it. I feel that paraphrasing might help: we (Earth) will be looking at our own shadow (as in the mirror) because the shadow will be projected outside. There is such depth in these phenomena that I will not even try to put it into words, as it is such an amazing object of meditation. “The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth” (Lao Tzu).
This opposition creates an axis. In this case, it is a cardinal Cancer – Capricorn axis. It’s a polarity of feminine and masculine, father and mother, feelings and reason, yielding and resisting, home and career, inside and outside, give nurture/be nurtured and restrictions, soft and hard, boundaries and embracing, water (Cancer) and earth (Capricorn). Because both signs have a lot to do with the past, karma, and family I would risk calling Cancer- Capricorn an “ancestral axis”. It evokes these energies. Talking about the past, a small reminder: Mercury is retrograding. So people and events from the past might come back. Good time to talk to your ghosts.
Because the Sun and Moon are involved, it’s a game of lights and shadow. The light changes because the eclipse always wants us to see something. The Moon will be in Capricorn along with its ruler Saturn. What I feel it is telling us is: there will be light cast on our shadow, our past, so we can examine our old ways. Patriarchy, domination, restrictions, rigidness, materialism, stubbornness, not willing to change. Moon will conjunct the Pluto and that also brings focus to the issue of power and control. Games of power, power concentrated in a hands of few, fear of losing power, violent ways to gain power, and to keep it. Pluto is a healer, it signifies huge transformation through death and rebirth. It is the power that is shaking the old world order now.
Saturn in Capricorn environment makes this whole thing very real, kind of “to the bones”. It is not only something we feel somewhere there. It is happening here and now. The political, economic, environmental situation is mirroring our condition. A few days ago I saw a poster saying “NEVER AGAIN IS NOW” and a picture of a small girl among the ruins of the destroyed city. Never again is now- is exactly what it is. Saturn is a planet of the lessons. It always shows us what we need to work on and change. “Never again is now” is a warning that we haven’t learned the lesson. It was not supposed to happen again and yet here we are.
Saturn is actually the one that is showing us what we need to learn. It is our greatest teacher and greatest blessing. He is the one that brings the lessons. Without it, there would be no growth and awareness.
And guess where the lunar nodes are right now. South Node is in Capricorn that highlights, even more, the issues from the past. South Node represents all the karmic baggage that we are coming here with (Similar to Saturn which is precisely conjunct the South Node now). They say that this is a point/gate through which souls enter this plane. In the personal chart nodal axis represents the evolutionary path of our souls. A general direction for this lifetime. Nodes change their position (zodiac sign) every 18 months. It brings an awareness to us as a collective, which aspects of our evolution we will be focusing on within this period. So here we are again on the Cancer – Capricorn axis.
North Node is always opposite the South Node, so now it is in Cancer and is telling us where we need to go.
Sun is shining a light of Cancer perspective on things. The Feminine. The Waters. The energy of the mother, home, nurturing, feeling loved, creating a safe place.
On a personal level, it might be read as a message: don’t be hard on yourself. Love yourself. Take care of yourself. Take care of your inner child. Cancer is a mother telling you: I love you the way you are. And I always will. I will create a home, a safe space for you to grow, and be able to express your feelings, be who you want to be. I will surround you with the cushion of unconditional love and protect you from all the harshness of the outside world. Cancer is home and family. But home is also the planet we live on and Earth is our mother. Pachamama. The stars are showing what we need to change in order to learn to live in peace as one human family in one home. It starts from how we relate to ourselves, family, close people we live within the same house. Then our neighbors, fellow countrymen, and all people in the whole world (Age of Aquarius). How much are we investing in building the walls and how much in trying to embrace, accept, and include.
On the political map, the biggest country from the sign of Cancer is the US (born 4th of July 1776 in Philadelphia), that’s why the US is a kind of arena, a focal point of those cosmic lenses. Hollywood has picked up the theme in its own way releasing Avengers Endgame: final war (Pluto), saving the 50% of humanity (opposition, dividing by 2, polarity) from total doom by traveling in time to the past (South Node, Saturn) and changing the course of events. Sounds familiar? BTW Thanos is the perfect embodiment of Saturn – Pluto energy. (I went to see Avengers yesterday and in the middle of the movie power went off in Manhattan everywhere west from Broadway. Mercury retrograde, ROLF).
Moon conjunct Pluto means that we might feel the change and urge to transform deeply on a personal level. It might touch your life. A solar eclipse is associated with gain, new chances, and opportunities. Lunar eclipse (because of South Node) is associated with loss. It can also mean death literally. To me, it definitely looks like the time of exits and endings (Pluto, Saturn, South Node).
I feel that the whole eclipse season is about wholeness and reintegration, cause it involves intense relation of polarities, also the one inside us. It brings all parts of us in alignment. The Sun, the Earth, and the Moon are standing in one line. The light changes and we can see what was hidden in the shadow (lunar eclipse) or be in the shadow (solar eclipse). The main source of energy “shuts down” for a moment so we can rest, hold still. It’s like a rest in the music and the music starts with silence. We can also see and understand how we are at the mercy of those powerful planetary energies and at the same time how much they support our growth. Moon rules the waters and our bodies consist of 80% of water. Certain planets rule our organs and parts of our bodies. “Lakota” means the ones who came from stars. We carry these energies inside us. Why are we looking at the position of planets in the moment of our birth? Our birth chart is our blueprint and our map. I feel that we are related to them much closer than we think.
We are part of the family.
Happy Eclipse Everyone.
Much Love
P.S.
The second picture is a legendary “family picture” of our solar system. It was taken by Voyager 1 just when he was leaving our galaxy, they turned around a camera and snapped “family photo”. This pale dot is Earth. This is where we are among the others. Just a reminder of our greatness. After taking that picture Voyager went into interstellar space and it’s probably still there playing “What a Wonderful World” of Louis Armstrong (the gramophone was installed on the satellite transmitting information describing who we are in case some other life forms will receive it. “What a Wonderful World” is part of that playlist. Somebody could say: Let’s make a World Great Again.
