How are you all doing during these eclipses and Mercury retrograding season? Intense (“in-tense”) time for a lot of us, for sure.
The eclipse’s influences can be experienced months after the actual event, but the most intensive time is until the next New Moon after the eclipse. That is going to be a New Moon in Leo on Wednesday (07/31).
Also, Mercury is going direct on 08/01, so it feels like we are finding our way out from the boiling pot or should I say: from the deep waters. For me this whole Cancer month with eclipses and retrograde feels like a deep dive into emotions, a lot of retrospectives, reflecting, self-care, withdrawing a little, going inside, sinking in. That’s the nature of waters- they’re always on the lowest point in the area.
And now Sun has entered Leo, so we are in the fire. Do you know Joseph Campbell’s “The Hero’s Journey”? It’s an amazing book, describing a kind of archetypal path of the growth or development that we, as people, are following. I attached the picture that describes the idea in the comments. For me, that last month (Cancer period) was that deep dive into the unknown, the abyss. We go deep under the surface, and we are facing challenges there, maybe going through a crisis, transformation, or even death in some way, learning some important truth. (this is when the Leo comes in): bring it to the world. Share all the treasures that you found on the bottom of the ocean. Express yourself (5th house). Bring it up, bring it outside. Give it to others, by being the best of yourself (that’s Leo’s talking). From your Heart (Leo rules heart) bring the fire from within. This is a time of reCREATING yourself. Almost like metal in the flames.
I’m wondering are you feeling this shift. I felt it strongly when Sun has entered Leo.
Next Wednesday we will have Sun, Moon, Mars, and Venus in Leo. Mercury will go direct so that’s a powerful support in moving forward. The planets in Leo will be making a trine with Jupiter (ruler of Sagittarius), which is now in Sagittarius (again fire). That will bring even more expansion, good luck, a positive vibe, and sunlight energy. Happy-go-lucky. Great time for putting ourselves out there in a creative way. Uranus in Taurus is squaring the Sun. That can give a bit of “expect unexpected”, but it looks like we have a hot, fire time ahead of us in a good sense.
