Venus in Cancer – Motherly Love

Venus in Cancer – Motherly Love

Venus in Cancer – Motherly Love 1536 1024 The Cosmos Within Us

After 4 months in Gemini (mutable air) Venus is entering the cardinal water sign – Cancer (8th of August). Step from Gemini to Cancer is a move from the most intellectual sign to the most emotional one.

In our personal charts, Venus represents our concept of love and relationships. If we want to understand the atmosphere of that coming month (Venus will be in Cancer until early September), then we connect Venus with social values and preferences, likes, and desires.

Gemini rules information, Cancers rules feelings, and emotions. Venus is also our heart. The time of Venus in Gemini was so much about understanding (based on gathered information) and verbalizing certain things that are happening in the world. Now is time to be at the moment, feeling it, embracing all the emotions – positive and difficult ones. We might feel like we want to let go of trying to understand and coming to a place of “how do I really feel about it?”. What does it all mean to me? How it affects me? This might be a time to stop, sit down and cry like a child.

But Cancer is also mother nurturing energy. Motherly Love (“Forget about the brotherly and other-ly love. Motherly love Is just the thing for you. You know your Mothers’ gonna love ya till ya don’t know what to do” – Frank Zappa). Venus is understanding with our hearts. Our Teacher always says that if we don’t know what to do, is good to pray to Venus for a deeper understanding.

Venus is now a morning star. You can see it in the east around 4-5 am, huge and bright like a lamp. Much brighter than any other stars in the sky now. Impossible to miss. Good to make an effort, wake up early when there are no clouds, and tune to that light. Breathe in that vibration. Talk to her. If you want you can always go back to bed after.

So for this coming month let’s tune to that motherly love. Let’s feel it toward other people and ourselves. Cancer is a mother that is telling us “I will always love you, I will protect you, I want to create a safe space for you to grow and become who you want to be”.

That safe space is also our planet Earth. For the Cosmic Mother, we are all and will always be children, no matter how old and advanced we are on our path. No matter what “mistakes” we did, she will always accept us. On one of the meetings at Sacred Arts Research Foundation in Brooklyn (S.A.R.F.) visiting Kogi (native people of Sierra Nevada mountains in Colombia) were sharing a story that even the dirtiest man and worst criminal can jump into the water and water will not “run away” or reject the person. She will accept him just like she will do with everyone. That is a feminine principle.

Venus in Cancer is a powerful counterbalance for Mars (Aries) squaring Jupiter-Pluto conjunction (Capricorn) which can be pretty ruthless and unforgiving. It is bringing that feminine softness, so much needed right now. I can feel that I can already breathe more freely.

“Oh great spirit, Pachamama, bless all the Mothers in the world”.

P.S. If you would like to know more about the Kogi nation, watch Aluna movie by Alan Ereira. Highly recommended!
