Jupiter, Zeus, God of Gods has reached the bottom of mountain Capricorn and he begins his 1-year-long climb (starting 02/12/2019). Very beginning (0 degrees) of cardinal sign (Capricorn in this case) is a special point. It is the most “Capricorny” of all points.
It is THE Capricorn point.
If Cancer (polarity point of Capricorn) is the mother, Capricorn is the father. It is the cardinal, masculine energy of putting ourselves out there in the battlefield of life, climbing the mountain, wrestling with the waves. In mythology, Zeus (Jupiter) was a son of Kronos (Saturn), the God of time who was swallowing his children right after birth. Zeus’s mother- Rhea- hidden him in the cave where he was nurtured and raised by a goat goddess Amalthea.
Loud, “happy-go-lucky” Jupiter has just entered the domain of discipline, rules, restrictions, and hierarchy. This environment is structuring, shaping the energy of Jupiter, but also Jupiter is casting its light onto the area of Capricorn. In the end, Zeus has overthrown his father Kronos, so in myths, Jupiter’s energy seems to be not quite dominated by Saturn, but traditionally Jupiter is in fall in Saturn’s kingdom. Saturn and Jupiter (Kronos and Zeus) represent very different qualities. Jupiter is all about expansion, Saturn about restrictions. Prominent Jupiter in the birth chart is pushing us into the spotlight, Saturn is moving us behind the scene. Jupiter says: “go!”, Saturn says: “stop”, Jupiter says: ”yes”, Saturn: “no”.
Jupiter as a ruler of Sagittarius brings luck, abundance, and expansion, but it is also an embodiment of searching for the truth. Now He will spend the next 12 months in Capricorn, climbing this mountain, going back and forth through different periods of retrograde movement, showing the truth about different aspects of Capricorn’s domain, from which nowadays most important are: authority and power. Both Saturn (authority) and Pluto (power) are now in Capricorn, triggering the great healing and transformation of the old world order, which we are all now witnessing. Jupiter will join them in March and from then until December 2020, these 3 archetypes will do some kind of dance on a personal and collective level.
I think Jupiter in Capricorn is very much about empowering your own truth. Sometimes the truth is coming in a sobering way. The energy of Capricorn might work as a bucket of cold water onto “jupiterian” idealized righteousness. Sometimes we got caught into “doing the right thing”. If we were living and working for some high ideas or higher cause, this might be the time when we can feel that this is it, when we might think: “maybe it was a great thing, but I’m fed up with being broke all the time”. Maybe we were doing something that was good for others, but we were scarifying some part of ourselves and some part of our life was suffering and now we feel that it needs to be changed. Jupiter in Capricorn or transit of Jupiter through Saturn is a meeting of authorities, also these internal figures of authority. We might ask ourselves: “what is right”?
Jupiter is also trying to make everything good and harmonious. It tells us “don’t worry, everything is well”. Now we might see that some part of it was not well at all. Or we might get a confirmation form a very practical, earth element point of view – this is good.
It might be time for incubation of success since Capricorn energy will suppress “jupiterian” expansion. If we are about to launch something, this is the time when we might be forced to slow down and do some more groundwork. Big plans, visions, and ideas are tested now. Is it gonna fly? Is it reliable? Is it even real? It’s a time of honesty with yourself. Do I want to continue this path? The truth in flesh. Also time of balancing between optimism and realism. Everything that will come out from that meditation will be solid. Don’t be afraid to evaluate your life and give yourself a time to go deep into contemplation about things. The truth will set you free and it is gonna be very down to earth truth.
